You know, now that Alaric’s all protective parent and Stefan nearly killed Elena without any show of remorse.  He walked into that damn house, showing no sign of care for the so-called love of his life, the one that he attacked and nearly drained of blood, either by himself or by allowing Klaus to turn her into a freakin’ drain at the hospital. 

Didn’t Rose say “It’s a lie, you know? There’s no switch you can turn off.”  Well apparently Stefan found a way to flip the damn thing.  If Damon pulled just a small fraction of Stefan’s BS with Elena, even if compelled, all hell would break loose on him.  There’d be torches and daggers flying.

But yeah, Alaric probably won’t.  Double standard and all.
